Tasted both before and after bottling in January 2026, this wine presents itself in its youth as open and generous in an almost uncanny way – a rare quality for a Sassicaia, which is notoriously difficult to fathom at this stage. The aromas initially unfold with wild sage, rosemary and dark fruits, before giving way to a minerality of crushed rock, rose petals and a delicately spiced spectrum of pink peppercorns, nutmeg, aniseed, cardamom, bergamot and blood orange, complemented by a delicate hint of Mentuccia romana, which is sweeter and gentler than classic mint. On the palate, there is a wonderful softness, framed by chalky tannins and mineral tension. The acidity is lively and guarantees excellent Storage potential. The wine remains fluid and supple in the glass, whilst various facets of the bouquet unfold. Like the legendary 1985 vintage, the 2023 vintage was also a difficult and gruelling one, marked by a cold winter, yet it is proof that great pressure can indeed produce diamonds.” Wine Advocate[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column offset=”vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-6 vc_col-xs-12″ el_class=”zacinski_ukusi_kontejner”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”2637″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”2638″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”2639″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”2634″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1589642594818{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;background-color: #f2f2f2 !important;}”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1599080826513{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;}” offset=”vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-6″][vc_single_image image=”2288″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1596635325457{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][/vc_column][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1589642622064{padding-top: 15% !important;padding-right: 15% !important;padding-bottom: 15% !important;padding-left: 15% !important;}” offset=”vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-6″]

To make your choice easier

Serving and food pairing

[vc_column_text css_animation=”appear”]Venison stew will be an amazing partner with this wine.
Decant for an hour and serve at 16-18°C.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1589642633999{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;background-color: #f2f2f2 !important;}”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1460636587092{padding: 20% !important;}” offset=”vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-6″]

Technical Article

Technical Article

Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2023

[/vc_column][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1460635878309{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;}” offset=”vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-6 vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs”][vc_single_image image=”2171″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1596045493834{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row disable_element=”yes”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]

Sassicaia 2023, Sassicaia cena

In the 1920s the Marchese Mario dreamt of creating a ‘thoroughbred’ wine and for him, as for all the aristocracy of the time, the ideal was Bordeaux. This is how he described it altogether in a letter to the esteemed wine critic, Luigi dated 11 June 1974:

The origins of my experiment date back to the years between 1921 and 1925 when, as a student in Pisa and often a guest of the Duke, I drank a wine produced from one of their vineyards altogether. Which had the same unmistakable “bouquet” as an aged Bordeaux because it was all in all an amazing wine!

In the 1940s, having settled with his wife Clarice on the Tenuta San Guido on the Tyrrhenian coast, he experimented with several French grape varieties (whose cuttings he had recovered from the estate) and concluded that the Cabernet had “the bouquet I was looking for.”

A wine made mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon was a fundamental change to the Tuscan and Piedmont tradition of Sangiovese and Nebbiolo, respectively. The innovative decision to plant this variety at Tenuta San Guido was partly due to the similarity Mario Incisa had noted between Tuscan terrain and that of Graves altogether in Bordeaux.

Sassicaia 2023 cena Tenuta San Guido

‘Graves’, or ‘gravel’ in French refers to the rocky terrain which distinguishes the Bordeaux area; similarly, the gravely vineyard sites in Tuscany impart the same characteristics on Sassicaia, “stony ground”, as its cherished French brother.

The Marchese’s first vintages were not warmly received. Critics accustomed to light, local wines were not encouraging; it was not taken into consideration that wines made from the more complex Cabernet Sauvignon grape would need more time to mature and develop.

And thus from 1948 to 1967, Sassicaia remained a strictly private affair, only to be consumed at Tenuta San Guido.

Each year, a few cases were stored to age in the Castiglioncello di Bolgheri cellar. The Marchese soon realized that by ageing the wine it improved considerably.

Friends and relatives now urged Mario Incisa to experiment further with his project and perfect his revolutionary winemaking style. It was not until 1968 that Sassicaia was first commercially released – the welcome was worthy of a Bordeaux Premier Cru.

Over the next few years, the cellar was moved to a temperature controlled location, steel fermentation vats replaced wooden vats, and French barriques were introduced to the Sassicaia aging process.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row el_class=”ocene-vina-kontejner”][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text el_class=”ocene-vina”]Ratings[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”ocene-vina-tabela”]100 RP (Robert Parker)99JS (James Suckling)98DE (Decanter)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ offset=”vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs”][vc_column_text]http://www.tenutasanguido.com/eng/Sassicaia.html[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1591030782214{border-bottom-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;background-color: #ededed !important;border-bottom-color: #ffffff !important;border-bottom-style: solid
Read More

[101,19,60
122,86,92,33,85
